The FX6 will benefit from new 1.3x and 2.0x anamorphic de-squeezes, the addition of the Cine EI Quick mode that was available on the FX3/FX30, autofocus in Slow&Quick mode starting at 7fps and higher, and a new file naming system similar to high-end Sony CineAlta cameras such as the FX9 and VENICE 2. i am also not interested in things like Apple ProRaw which attempt to encode "a claimed 14 stops of DR" into a 12-bit "raw" file.Sony has just announced two firmware updates for their FX6 version 4.0 and VENICE 2 version 2.1. i will not buy any camera (like Nikon or Sony too) applying such manipulations in a "non-optional way" to raw image files. it also does not matter to me how severe or immediately noticable those raw image manipulations are. i only ever capture full raw image files and i want those only straightforwardly demosaiced, but no other "beautification measures" applied to. they can play with in any which way to artificially make images look more artificial. Canon has jpg, HEIC, mRaw, cRaw, sRaw etc. it cannot be switched off by user in any way. But it is a fact, that these are the first 2 Canon EOS cameras that admittedly apply "non-optional" noise reduction at base ISO and up to ISO 800 or 1600, depending on model (R5/R6). I dont have an R5 or R6 and will not ever buy one. You can download firmware version 1.3.0 for the EOS 1D X Mark III on Canon’s product page.
